Cristina Sánchez Cannabinoids as Antitumural Therapy

Cristina Sánchez is Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Since the late 1990s she has focused her research on the study of cannabinoid signaling in the oncological context. After a 3-year postdoctoral stay at the University of California Irvine, Cristina returned to Spain in 2003 and began coordinating a new line of research within the group of Dr. Manuel Guzmán.

Its gold is to understand in molecular terms and to exploit clinically the antitumor potential of cannabinoids in breast cancer mainly. Cristina has been Scientific Secretary of the Spanish Research Society on Cannabinoids, whose Board is still a member, and is part of the Scientific Advisory Committee of Zelda Therapetics and Daya Foundation.
